Studio Equipment Rental

Open Studio Rental Rates and Procedures

 Time: Every Friday from 9-6pm

• Registration is required so I know you are coming.  Please call 512-576-8340 to book your session/s.
• $25/hour with a minimum of 2 hours each session payable by check or credit card.
• You must show me proficiency at each machine you intend to use before I will let you!  Please respect my equipment.  It is VERY expensive and I really love it a lot!  If I see you mistreating it you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.  I expect normal wear and tear, not carelessness or abuse.
• At the end of your session please return all equipment to proper place, wipe counters and table surfaces (this means leave no trace)
• Rinse sink
• Empty drain buckets
• Sweep/Mop floor by your machine
• Shut off water valves
• Replace any glass or tools used to their proper storage place
• Hang up rubber apron outside on hooks
• Kiln firing fees, glass, metal findings and materials are separate from open studio rental.  I will prep kiln shelves if I know you intend to fire something.
• It is suggested that you have your own rubber boots and safety equipment.  I’m sure you don’t want to breathe in someone else’s mask, ooh!  You can purchase masks for $1.

 Please note that Open Studio is designed for independent study and work.  Tools and equipment will be available for use during Open Studio Time.  A monitor (probably myself) will be available to aid students/artists in purchasing supplies and answering simple questions about our equipment ONLY.  There will be NO INSTRUCTION during Open Studio Time.  Please hold any questions on technique and design for classes and Q&A sessions.

• Bench Press (mounted Dremel)

• 4 kilns of differering sizes (additional firing fees apply)  Hot Box, 12”, 18”, 22x44”
• Available as part of studio rental are glass cutters, bench space, slumping molds, kiln furniture, alcohol, running pliers, basic glass handtools and some metal working tools.  All metals, glass, fiber paper and working materials must either be purchased or student provided.  We are a 90 COE studio.
